We asked some of the people who were involved in earlier years to help us. They all gave their time and knowledge to set us on the right way for what was for us a new venture and we were extremely grateful for their help. John, Simon, Dave, and Dug many thanks.
We did an initial route check by car, then we mapped out the route and prepared route maps and refreshment stops. We arranged the marshalling of the stations and the buffet, medals certificates and signage. Gordon did a test run of the track by bike and declared it fit for purpose. Dee was on call as our First Aider, Dave and George were on hand to do bike checks, Helen, Rita and Lisa were preparing the buffet.
Thanks to all who helped with the event, and to the Alston Moor Partnership, whose small grant award from the Unity Lottery allowed us to buy signage, high visibility jackets for the Marshalls, and the medals and certificates for the competitors.
